Inbox on iPhone

The iPhone app has an Inbox tab. It reads and writes the same inbox as the desktop app, and captures, filing, snoozes and archives sync both ways.

This page covers what works on the phone and where it behaves differently from the desktop.

Views

The list groups captures by Today, Yesterday and Older. Each row shows the capture's type, its title and one line with the source or kind and its age; a photo shows a thumbnail. Captures that have waited past your stale threshold are dimmed.

Tap the title to switch between Inbox, Snoozed & reminders, Archived and Insights. The filter button narrows the list by type. Pull the list down to sync now.

Capturing

Tap + to open the composer above the keyboard:

• Text. Type and send. The composer stays open for the next capture.
• Links. When a link is on the clipboard, a chip offers to paste it. A link you already captured shows Already captured, with Capture anyway if you want a second copy.
• Files. The paperclip adds a photo or a file: images, audio, video and PDF, up to 50 MB. HEIC photos are saved as JPEG.
• Voice. The microphone records a voice memo. It is transcribed on the phone.

From other apps

Choose Share → Memry in Safari, Photos or any app that shares links, text, photos, videos or files. Memry saves the item and adds it to your inbox the next time the app opens, so sharing works even while your vault is locked. A link you already captured shows the same Already captured notice.

Working with a capture

On a row:

• Swipe right to File.
• Swipe left to Snooze or Archive.
• Touch and hold for the row menu: Rename, Open link, Select, Archive, File, Convert and Snooze.

Tap a capture to open it. Links show their preview, voice memos a player and the transcript, and photos and videos play inline. The bottom bar has Archive, Convert and File.

File opens the File sheet: search your folders, create one by typing a path with /, pick from your recent folders, add tags, or link the capture to existing notes. For photos, choose whether the image is embedded in a new note or filed as a file.

Convert turns a capture into a task or a reminder.

Most actions show an Undo toast for a few seconds.

Selecting

Choose Select from the row menu or the … menu, tap rows, then File, Tag, Snooze or Archive them together.

Snoozed, Archived and Insights

• Snoozed & reminders lists upcoming and past snoozes and reminders. Tapping a task reminder opens the task; swipe a snoozed capture to bring it back to the inbox now.
• Archived has search. Swipe to Restore or Delete permanently.
• Insights shows what you captured and processed, stale items and your filing history.

Notifications and settings

… → Inbox settings holds:

• Daily review reminder and its time. This setting syncs with the desktop. Send test shows a sample notification.
• Image filing and Ask when filing. These apply to this phone only.

The phone notifies you once a day to review the inbox and again when a snoozed capture is due. Notifications carry counts only, never capture text, because iOS keeps notification text outside your vault's encryption. Tapping one opens the Inbox tab.

Differences from the desktop

• Suggestions. The phone shows your recent folders instead of AI filing suggestions, and select mode has no cluster suggestion.
• Events. Convert offers Task and Reminder. Converting to a calendar event is desktop-only.
• Files from other devices. A photo, voice memo or file captured on another device shows as being on that device; the phone does not download it.
• Tags. Inbox tags stay on the device where you add them.
• Reminders for notes and journal days. These are listed under Snoozed & reminders but do not open from there yet.
• Shared items. Sharing to Memry has no field for a note of your own.
