Daily Review Reminder
An optional, once-a-day nudge to process the day's captures in one calm pass. When it's on and your inbox has items, MemryNote shows a desktop notification at the time you choose. If the inbox is empty, it stays quiet.
Turning it on
Open Settings → Inbox → Daily review reminder and toggle it on. It's off by default. When enabled, pick the reminder time — a local wall-clock time on each device (for example, 6:00 PM).
What it does
- At your chosen time, if the inbox has items to review, you get a single desktop notification (e.g. "Time to review your inbox — 4 items").
- Clicking the notification focuses MemryNote and opens the Inbox.
- If the inbox is empty at that time, nothing happens.
The count it reacts to matches the sidebar Inbox badge: unfiled items, excluding snoozed items and reminders you've already viewed.
Send a test notification
Use Settings → Inbox → Test notification → Send test to fire the reminder right now, without waiting for the scheduled time. It looks exactly like the real daily nudge, and clicking it opens the Inbox the same way.
This is the quickest way to confirm your operating system is allowed to show MemryNote's notifications. On first use, your OS may ask you to allow notifications — accept it. If nothing appears, notifications are turned off for MemryNote (or Do Not Disturb / Focus is on); enable them in your system notification settings and try again.
How often it fires
- Once per day per device. After it notifies, it stays silent until the next day, even if you don't clear the inbox.
- Catch-up on the same day. If the app was closed at your reminder time and you open it later that day with items still waiting, the nudge fires once when you open it. It does not carry a missed reminder across midnight.
Across your devices
The reminder schedule (on/off and time) syncs across your devices, like your other settings. Each device watches independently and shows its own reminder at your chosen local time — so with the app open on two machines at that time, you may see one notification on each. Nothing about your inbox contents leaves your device; the schedule is the only thing that syncs, and it stays end-to-end encrypted like the rest of your settings.
Notes
- The reminder uses your device's local time, so "6:00 PM" means 6:00 PM wherever that device is.
- If your operating system's notification permission is off (or Do Not Disturb is on), the notification is suppressed by the OS — MemryNote can't override that.
